There are so many wonderful things to write about, so I won’t waste any time getting into what I’d like to share with you today. Earlier this summer, I had the privilege of shooting a senior session with Austin. Austin had actually asked me a couple of years ago if I could do his senior portraits when he got to be a senior, and I was so glad everything came together to make that happen this year.
I must say, conditions were quite iffy when we set up Austin’s session, as the weather then was a rain/shine mix and you never knew which day was going to bring which. We ended up hitting it right on the money, and I truly believe we couldn’t have asked God to plan it better if we tried. During the beginning of his session, we were pretty sure we were going to get rained on, as the clouds were rolling toward us and the breeze picked up, but we didn’t feel a drop. And once the sun came out, it was pure bliss.
One thing I loved about Austin’s session was his eye for artistic shots and willingness to try different things. Both he and his mom have an appreciation for nature and it’s majestic beauty, so when the clouds and sun made for that painting-like sky, the Schallers were all for trying some artistic setups to get these images.
Since Austin is into sports and does a lot through his high school, we wanted to be sure to get some images that represented that part of his life. I was pretty impressed when he showed me he could spin a basketball on one finger of his hand :)
I enjoyed working with Austin so much and getting to know him better. He was a lot of fun, and I love his appreciation for art and music. Best of luck during your senior year, Austin. I know it will be a great one for you!
