A lifestyle newborn photography session in Columbia, SC

I am thrilled to share with you one of the latest sessions I had the privilege of photographing. As a lifestyle newborn photographer in Columbia, SC, I absolutely adore working with sweet families in their homes. Working with new parents and meeting their little ones for the first time is the best!

Meet the lovely Annan family :) I was thrilled when I got a note from Nick asking me about photographing his newborn son and their family to document this special time in their lives. What was crazy was learning about all of the connections we had to others from past lives that we didn’t even know existed!

From the first moment I walked into their home, I knew they were a couple after my own heart. Everything from their warm hospitality to the calm jazz music playing in the background and the simple and beautiful color scheme they had throughout their house and nursery made me feel so at ease.

Nick & Katie were college sweethearts and strengthened their relationship over music – Katie being a clarinet player and Nick being a trumpet player. After being in marching band together, they tied the knot before adding to their family a few years later with this handsome little man.

And oh my goodness, this little guy was the most precious! Since he slept most of the morning, we had a short window to get some sleepy images. He really did great overall!

I must say, Katie & Nick have great tastes when it comes to decorating nurseries. With the gold, navy and gray/white scheme they decided to implement, it was perfect for their little boy. Anyone looking for inspiration should take notes from what they decided to do with this room!
