Happy belated New Year! Though I know we are already toward the end of January, I hope everyone’s 2015 has started off great, and I for one am excited about what this year has to bring. But before delving into the ideas, hopes and dreams about 2015, I’d like to take a look back on 2014 and share what an awesome year it was for photography.
2014 started off a little slow, largely due to the terrible winter we had that seemed like it dragged on forever. I think it finally got warm enough to not wear a large coat sometime in late April, beginning of May. That being said, 2014 also ended up being my busiest year ever in photography so far :) I photographed several weddings throughout the summer and fall months as both a lead photographer and as a second photographer for several. I also had a bunch of senior sessions and family sessions, especially as we got into the fall months, and had a great time with all of them. And one of the most exciting things was being able to capture the first moments of several newborns this fall too.
Something I strive to capture in every session I do is the personality and true essence of who it is I’m photographing. I want to make sure that the images depict my client and represent their character. I wish I could showcase images from every session I did this year, but as I started going through them, I realized that it would make for a super long post, so I’ve resorted to a few highlights that I felt really captured the emotion of the of the people in the images.
So what’s in store for 2015? All sorts of things :) So far I’ve had the privilege of helping with a wedding and had a sweet family session of little ones with their grandparents, along with an event for the Arts Partnership. Later this year, I have several weddings I’m photographing as well as family sessions that have started to be scheduled. And I may have a few personal projects thrown in there too :)
To say the least, I’m very excited to see what 2015 has in store and can’t wait to to see what unfolds over the next several months!
