Every year, groups from all across the nation come together for a day of prayer, aptly named the National Day of Prayer. I’ve had the privilege of photographing this event for two years in a row for the city of Findlay, and it is always something I enjoy. It is a time that is quite moving to see, as so many people come together in the name of God, regardless of religious background, denomination status, etc. This year, the local gathering took place at the Church of the Living God on N. Main St. in Findlay, OH.
During the event, there are many prayers offered and scripture passages read for reflection. There are also individuals who present their gifts of singing, playing music, dancing and acting, which depict many worship languages and ways to connect with God.
I think what I love most about this event is the passion and focus individuals have when it comes to remembering the one who always knows what’s best for our lives and who will never leave us or forsake us.
