It was a gorgeous August day, full of sun and a light breeze. When I first arrived to Thorndale Oaks in Oxford, NC, I knew it was going to be a beautiful spot for a wedding ceremony. The flowers were in full bloom, the birds were singing a bit in the trees and the decorations were coming together for the special day.
The details Thorndale Oaks and Avory and Abigail provided were amazing. Everything from the antique, mismatched and rustic dining chairs to the flower and lantern centerpieces were beautiful. Candles and lanterns lined every entrance, flowers were used as accents throughout, and the way old wooden pews were used in the outdoor chapel area brought such a quaint and modern approach to traditional décor. I couldn’t get enough of how all of the pieces came together to make this beautiful setting for a southern wedding.
Meeting the bridal party was a lot of fun. Avory and his guys had a great time telling jokes back and forth and giving each other a hard time.
Abigail was so beautiful in her dress from David’s Bridal and exchanged hugs and laughs with her girls as they doted over her dress.
When I first met Abigail & Avory, I knew that family and special cultural traditions were going to be very important to them. Their wedding day incorporated all of those things including some special Hispanic traditions of exchanging coins during the ceremony and being placed under a knotted rope to symbolize unity.
My favorite time with a bride and groom is when I get to steal them away for a few minutes to get images of them by themselves. There were so many times I felt like they looked like a magazine couple and I could have seriously spent all day photographing them and getting different smiles, glances they stole at one another and the simple love they shared. It was perfect :)
Congratulations to Abigail & Avory! I wish you all a lifetime of happiness :)
